Be the Nothingness

“The successful writer listens to himself. You get a writer’s block by being aware that you’re putting it out there.” — Frank Herbert

As I interpret it, you are successful when you can tune out everyone else and just listen to yourself; when you worry about how your readers will perceive something you’ve written, it makes you listen to them instead of yourself, and your creative train will slowly roll to a complete stop.
