"What does the money machine eat? It eats youth, spontaneity, life, beauty, and, above all, it eats creativity. It eats quality and shits quantity." — William S. Burroughs
Adapting the Hero’s Journey to linear plotting:
"you can launch a blank Google Doc in less time than it takes to type out a full web address. If you’re already signed into your Google account, simply go to your web browser, type in doc.new (no www. required) and hit Enter to go to your fresh, new document. For Google Slides, do the same for slide.new, and for Sheets, use sheet.new."
For the record, I completely agree with Jeanette Ng’s observations about Joseph W Campbell, the namesake of the award she won in 2019. Now is the time for parity in SciFi; now is the time for equality in publishing. Writers like Ng are leading the way.
"Life is not a ledger. Your sins can’t be paid off through good deeds. Your good deeds are not cancelled by your sins. Your sins and your good deeds live alongside one another. They coexist in superposition." — Cory Doctorow
"You are beautiful and lovedby the universe that made you,
with every atom and star
moving in perfect alignment
to make you, you."
"Imperfection is beautymadness is genius
and it’s better to be
than absolutely boring"
